Dawn recently had the opportunity to visit the community of Oenpelli (Gumbalanya) in Western Arnhem Land. She spent time exploring the landscape, studying traditional rock art, visiting ancient sites and creating some drawings which subsequently turned into a series on her return to Melbourne. Dawn hopes to return to Gumbalanya early next year to further develop her painting series.
