This new portrait of Adam Goodes,  was inspired by our meeting in Sydney earlier this year.  I wanted to capture the essence of  Adam, his sense of humanity and the importance of his connection to his culture and the land.  The mediums I used were a crucial part of this painting, for their material and conceptual reference to the land. I hand ground natural ochres, burned charcoal and included sand and acrylic paint on linen.
